In Brief

Receiving his first guitar in 1991 on his 13th birthday, Pat Floyd has pursued a life in music ever since.  In pursuit of a total understanding and dynamics of a rock band, Pat added bass at fifteen and drums at sixteen.  In 1993, during junior high school, Pat begin taking guitar lessons where he was introduced to classical, blues, and jazz, as well as music theory.  In 1994 as a sophomore, Pat joined the jazz and marching bands playing guitar.  Later in the same school year he joined the school’s show group.  During this time Pat co-founded his first band “Torture Dolls” (playing bass) which later became “Nefulum Fes.”  He met James his senior year when James joined the show group and sang tenor along side him in Chorus. Upon graduation, Pat began classes at Florida State University in Tallhassee, Florida.

Pat was asked to join Area 51 during his freshman year in the spring of 1998. Playing with the band that summer, he returned to FSU for his sophomore year. In 1999, Pat made a decison to transfer to the University of South Florida in Tampa to complete his education and give the band the attention it deserved. Pat has since crafted a distinctive sound that avoids flash but still attentive to skill and melody, his sound is familiar but progressive in today’s modern heavy rock. He is very much involved in the business aspect and marketing direction of the band.

Interesting Fact : Pat (who's first name is William ) is a direct descendant of General William Floyd, the first New York signer of the Declaration of Independence.
